How to Connect Your Traeger To Wifi

Take your Traegering to the next level with access to our entire recipe archive, the Traeger community, and the ability to shop online at your fingertips through WiFIRE. By connecting your Traeger to WiFi, not only will you achieve delicious results, but you'll be able to do it from the comfort of your couch.

This how-to guide will also walk you through connecting your iPhone to your WiFIRE enabled Traeger pellet grill with ease. WiFIRE-enabled grill users can also use WiFIRE control, send recipes to their grill, and cook with alerts and temperature control.


How to Connect Your Traeger to Wifi

PRE-PAIRING CHECKLIST

Before you try to pair your grill, check the following:

  • If you are on iOS 15, turn off iCloud Privacy Relay in your phone's settings
  • Make sure your grill is within 30 ft (9 m) of your router
  • Connect your phone to the WiFi network you want your grill connected to
    • Make sure you are connected to the 2.4 GHz band

PAIRING STEPS

  1. Open the Traeger app and select, + Add WiFIRE Grill
  2. Select the controller that matches the one on your grill
  3. Select your grill model
  4. Choose to pair with a QR Code or without a QR Code

Pair with a QR Code

  1. Scan the QR Code under the hopper lid
  2. Enter your WiFi network password
  3. Allow Suggested WiFi Networks
  4. You have successfully paired your grill

Pair without a QR Code

  1. Enter your Grill Name
    1. On your controller, press the menu button
    2. Select WiFi information
    3. Your Grill Name is the four digits after, Name: Traeger-
  2. Enter your Grill Password
    1. On the same screen, enter the 4 digits after, Password: wifire
  3. Enter the grill's UUID
    1. On the controller, navigate to Menu > Settings > About Grill > Grill UUID
  4. Enter your WiFi network password
  5. Your phone will say, "Checking WiFi Connection"
  6. Allow Suggested WiFi Networks
  7. You have successfully paired your grill
